John is in the throes of hypocrisy. And he’s come to realize it, even against the backdrop of the near-future, as good and evil are so deliberately defined by social position. He’s a cop. He performs a ‘heroic’ deed as deemed by the general bureaucracy and is further elevated in ‘hero’ status. But how can he be a hero when in reality he abuses his power? So he spends his nights assaulting the public, hoping to be proved the sham he believes himself to be. Hoping to be arrested to send a message. But will it fall on deaf ears?
