Sole Productions is casting a Feature Film. Sarajane Crowley is holding auditions for the roles listed below.

Filming is set to start in June in Illinois

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
D.I.N.K.s (Double Income – No Kids) is a contemporary dark comedy about a struggling freelance writer who finds success when he begins writing articles about couples who don’t want children and the bias and discriminating behavior of the parents in the predominately, family-oriented community where he and his wife live.

Director – Robert Alaniz

Producers – Robert Alaniz, Max Nayden and Dave Branigan

Leading Roles – We are looking for actors with good verbal comedic timing and expression

Supporting Roles – There are several adult and child speaking roles in addition to the ones listed.

Featured Extra’s – Extra’s of all kinds will be needed for many scenes

CHARACTERS

RICHARD BROOKS (35-45 Male )
Frustrated freelance writer. Good sense of humor. Soft spoken until pushed to his limits becoming crazed and obsessed with his cause.

RACHEL BROOKS (30-40 Female )
Hard working Legal Secretary. Career minded. Doesn’t want children even though her mother expected her to have grandchildren. She loves her husband and is supportive of his ambitions.

MAYOR FERGUSON (50-65 Male )
Mayor of a small family oriented suburb of Chicago. Always watching the bottom line (money). Can be politically revengeful when crossed. Sports a mostly superficial personality.

CARLOS (30-40 Male )
Richard’s Coffee House buddy. Married and divorced 3 times with 5 kids. Care free to a fault. Always giving advise (not necessarily good).

SKYLAR (25-35 Male )
The obnoxious next door neighbor. Likes to party, swear, drink, and do drugs, yet thinks he is the perfect role model for his children.

SIERRA HAGGERTY (18-21 Female )
A young woman about to be married whose determination not to ever have children makes her a huge fan of Richard’s D.I.N.K.’s articles. Head strong but a little “spacey”.

CHARLES (25-35 Male )
He is the Mayor’s aide, who is constantly watching over his daily schedule. He is Gay and his mannerisms are feminine. Fast talking, observant and dutiful.

SARAH FERGUSON (40-50 Female )
The Mayor’s wife. Always the model wife and mother. She spoils her daughter and can be extremely defensive.

BETH (55-65 Female )
Rachel’s mother, who has always wanted grandchildren but is hurt by Rachel’s decision never to have children.

“True Grit” Casting Call

Teen auditions – Paramount pictures is holding an open casting call for “True Grit”, a Coen Brothers movie. They are in search of a teen girl to play the part of “Mattie”. The film is set in post civil war times and is a remake of the 1969 version of “True Grit” starring John Wayne and Kim Darby.

Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon have already beed added to the cast - Jeff Bridges has been cast in the new film as U.S. Marshal “Rooster” Cogburn. Matt Damon and Josh Brolin also have been cast.

Paramount Pictures is holding an open casting call for Joel and Ethan Coen’s next film, “True Grit”. The casting call is for a 12- to 17-year-old caucasian girl to play the lead role of “Mattie”. The character “Mattie” is described as a “simple, tough as nails young woman in post-Civil War Arkansas”.

The filmmakers also are accepting taped auditions in lieu of attending the casting call. Instructions for taping and sending auditions can be found at truegritcasting.com.

Open casting call for Jurian Isabelle’s modern urban drama
“THE LAST DISCIPLES”
Writer, Director, Producer Jurian Isabelle is holding an open casting call for his upcoming film “The Last Disciples” to be shot in HUNTSVILLE, AL.
The Last Disciples is about three African American individuals going through difficult times in their lives and the spiritual awakening they each encounter.
Actors and Actresses between the ages of 18-30 are needed and the roles will require the actors/actresses to convey large depths of emotional sorrow and pain. Experience is preferred but not required.
This is a non-paid opportunity; however, actors/actresses will receive a copy of the film for the perspective reels as well as exposure to any film festivals this film will be selected for. There is also a possibility to gain national exposure as this film is being submitted to BET’s short film contest. Actors/actresses will also be able to generate revenue from DVD sales of the project, which will be explained upon inquiry.
The Last Disciples is being shot in and around the city of HUNTSVILLE, AL. Principle photography begins soon so apply immediately! Availability is also crucial for actors. Production dates and times will be provided upon expressed interest.
