Technology and film history collide when a man’s emotions are reflected in the type of image he is living in (black and white film, color film, digital high definition, faster/slower frame rates, so on). Slowly but surely, he finds himself transforming into none other than Charlie Chaplin.
CHUCK (20s – mid 30s)
-Comfortable and natural with physical comedy
-Dark hair preferred
-Ability to watch a performance and mimic with precision
-Ability to cover a wide range of emotions and switch on a dime
-Appreciation for Chaplin a plus

The Black Spectrum Theatre Company (www.blackspectrum.com) is accepting submissions for its hit comedy, “Single Black Female” by Lisa B. Thompson, directed by Bette Howard. Rehearsals begin in July for three weeks. Dress rehearsal performances July 24 and 25, 2009 at Black Spectrum Theatre in St. Albans, Queens, NY.
Additional performances at the 2009 National Black Theatre Festival (www.nbtf.org) in Winston Salem, North Carolina the first week of August. Other tour dates to be announced. Good pay. Union and non-union.
Seeking two 30-something, versatile Black female actresses to play multiple characters in this biting comedy about middle-class single Black women. Good looking, shapely Black women of all hues and heights with plenty of sassiness, sensuality, and confidence a plus.
